Court is held on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 2:00 pm in the court chambers of the Flomaton Municipal Complex with the exception of holidays in which a make-up day will occur during that same week. On those days, there will be no one available by phone or in person starting at 1:00 pm.
Upon entering the Municipal Court area, you will be subject to a search of your person and your belongings. This is carried out via a walk-through metal detector for your person. If need be you may also be searched with a handheld metal detector and/or an actual physical pat down. The following items will NOT be allowed past the security check point (and possession of some will result immediate in your immediate arrest): - Firearms - Knives - Mace/Pepper Spray - Alcohol or Drugs - Clothing with Lewd or Suggestive Writing or Images. To ensure a quick and smooth entry into the court area you should not have any of the items listed above. You will not be allowed to leave prohibited items at the security check point. You must leave prohibited items in your vehicle. This is for your safety and the safety of others.
The Municipal court has jurisdiction over municipal ordinance violations, including both traffic and criminal offenses. Many minor violations may be settled prior to the court date by payment of prescribed fine. If paid prior to court date, a court appearance is not necessary. Fines must be paid prior to the provided court date or appear at the given date and time. Fines may be paid in cash, with certified check, money order, credit or debit card. No personal checks are accepted. Payments can be made in person or by mail. Phone payments are not available.
