THE TOWN OF FLOMATON IS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR A FULL-TIME TOWN CLERK

 Hours of Operation are 8:00 to 4:00 Monday through Friday with some evening meetings. Responsibilities include Municipal Clerk, Utility Billing, Municipal Treasurer, Cash Receipting & Account Receivables/Payables, General Ledger, Budget, Payroll, Banking and Deposits.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of parliamentary procedures, principles and practices. Knowledge of the state of Alabama statutes and the application of those statutes. Must be able to prioritize and work in an environment with constant interruptions. Knowledge of records management standards and the ability to apply principles and practices necessary to maintain the official records. Ability to interact in a courteous manner with the staff and the public and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other professionals, organizations and the public. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of the use of proper grammar, punctuation and spelling. Ability and skill to operate general office equipment such as computers, copy machines, printers, phone and voice mail system, fax machine and 10-key calculator. Should be knowledgeable of Microsoft applications, familiar with reconciling bank statements, and recording and paying invoices on a monthly basis. Ability to key a monthly budget and provide a Financial Statement on a monthly basis to the town accountant. Attends all meetings for the Town Council, Records minutes of the meetings as the official record. Prepares copies of official meeting minutes for distribution and approval.
